HELPING HOOVES
Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Program

What is Equine Assisted Growth and Learning?

Animals are beneficial to our physical and emotional health. Equine Assisted Growth and Learning is designed to benefit clients with a range of mental, emotional, behavioral, and learning challenges. This unusual form of therapy is effective because the horse is the real therapist, bringing issues out in the open through its nonjudgmental, accepting presence and its tendency to mirror the internal feelings of the participant.

At Helping Hooves...

The focus is not on riding skills or horsemanship knowledge, but rather on the client and his/her personal needs, strengths and weaknesses, and ever-changing goals. Clients participate in various ground activities and riding exercises. The hands-on format helps to strengthen the skills necessary for achieving a healthy union of the mind, body, and soul.
